Rachel Cantu - We’re the Rebels
I just discovered this awesome Tumblr music resource via another blog which is very cool. I plan on posting a song I dig everyday
Keane - Bad Dream
From Ziggy: ”here is the first song, it’s called africa land. I wrote it cause of the world cup in Africa as a way of cheering on Africa as one team and celebrating a new day in African history. My brother Stephen and my good friend Angelique joined me for this celebration. Enjoy.
3 D’s: Decluttering via Digitizing and Donating
A friend of ours sent out an email asking for help to get her out of jail (mental note: review friendship requirements). Yes, we hang with some shady characters. Actually it was for a good cause - raising money for MD and who could refuse her awesome jail video? Videos from jail are always fun. Anyways, we were working on decluttering the living room and doing away with dust magnet knick-knacks made in China and figuring out what to do with decades worth of collecting CDs. We decided to donate it all to our jailbird friend who was having an unrelated garage sale and told her that anything she makes from our treasures we wanted to give towards her bail money. All week long I have been uploading CDs into iTunes to preserve our music and packing away the Chinese products to share with others. What more could we ask for - we were able to declutter, digitize our music, and donate it all to a good cause.
The Wild Places
The Wild Places - Dan Fogelber…
I was walking alone, through the lofty San Juans
With a heart full of light, and a head full of songs
I was thinking of time, and how much it will cost
To recapture the souls, that we surely have lost
In the cities and towns, there are millions who dream
But the traffic’s so loud, that you can’t hear them scream
There’s a Heaven on earth, that so few ever find
Though the map’s in your soul, and the road’s in your mind
So many mountains before us
So many rivers to cross
Where is the wisdom to bring
Back the vision we’ve lost?
Can we gaze with the wonder of children
Into the deafening night
Has it gotten so dark
That you cannot remember the light?
When you sleep on the ground, with the stars in your face
You can feel the full length, of the beauty and grace
In the wild places man, is an unwelcome guest
But it’s here that I’m found, and it’s here I feel blessed
Carefree by the amazing Samantha Stollenwerck
I can’t believe that it took so long to play this
Game of hide and seek it’s not like I’m a wallflower
Waiting in the wings for you to free
I wear my heart on my sleeve and I haven’t changed
From being the girl in the back of the class
Talking smack too laid back they said man
When is she gonna get it all together
I lost my eyes on my pride and it’s no surprise that
You can’t tell no lies to yourself unless you need
An alibi well I found my way many nights many days
Of searching for my tracks not I’ve come to get them back okay
I’ve got my feet on the ground my head in the clouds
I follow my heart it’s in the right place
I’ve got my soul on my sleeve 100% garunteed
I ain’t got nothing on me but my carefree
Oh I tried so hard to be a soldier
But ended up crashing my own roller coaster
Breaking rules and following suit
Who knows if I’ll find it but I’m looking for the truth
Undisciplined and out of control too much overstimulation
For a sensitive soul overeducated underlearned
A blond with an iq of arizonas temperature
Lolly gaggin dally waggin they said give
It up it ain’t never gonna happen
Tried to listen to the man behind the curtain
Blowing smoke up my ass then
The bridges started burning I was looking in the mirror
And my eyes were getting clearer you can’t change the past
You can only change the future
I’ve got my feet on the ground my head in the clouds I follow my heart it’s in the right place I’ve got my soul on my sleeve 100% guarunteed I ain’t got nothing on me but my carefree
(Breakdown)
I’ve got my feet on the ground my head in the clouds
I follow my heart it’s in the right place
I’m taking my time I’m blurring the lines
Like the wind in the chimes I sing my own way
I’ve got my feet on the ground my head in the clouds I follow my heart it’s in the right place I’ve got my soul on my sleeve 100% guarunteed I ain’t got nothing on me but my carefree
Oh I’ve got no regrets I know life is not a test
I’m giving my best and I’m not hurried
I take my foot off the brakes oh an go my own way
I aint got too much to take just my carefree
